JAZZ LIVE A mixture of standards, originals and improvisations featuring one time Billie Holiday accompanist and versatile modern pianist Waldron, with Oxford-based reedsman Haslam. An impromptu recording session, apparently organised to replace a cancelled gig, the sound quality isn't all it should be. The standards come out a bit staid and flat, but there is plenty of fine music in the freer tracks. "One for Steve" (Steve Lacy - Waldron's usual duet partner) and "Tangled Lawful Bells", in particular, feature some excellent work by both musicians.
